Summit Learning Charter is committed to equity to ensure student success, staff retention, and organizational success. Equity acknowledges that we do not all start from the same place and must make adjustments to restore imbalances. Equity entails identifying needs and properly allocating resources that will overcome intentional and unintentional barriers arising from bias or systemic structures.

Dear Staff, Students and Families,

Over the past several days many of you have reached out asking about school policies regarding potential requests from ICE to enter our school and/or have access to people on our campus. 

According to the Department of Homeland Security, "All children have the right to a free public education, regardless of their actual or perceived immigration or citizenship status or that of their parents." 

Our focus is also on educating our students, within a safe and welcoming environment. To honor this, we will not be admitting ICE agents into private school spaces in our building without the appropriate judicial warrant directing us to do so.

Summit’s EL (English Learners) Program is designed to support students whose first language is not English and their families.  Summit offers the following opportunities and supports for EL students and their families.

Students United is Summit's GSA (Genders and Sexualities Alliance), existing to provide a safe space for Summit students that identify as LGBTQ+ and their allies to connect, offer support, and get resources. This group will be meeting to enhance positive connections, celebrate diversity, and explore resources/opportunities.
