3rd Annual Meteor Shower Campout Signup
You are invited to Summit's family campout on the night of August 15th 2026. Families can set up their camping gear on campus and enjoy Summit's campus all day and a constellation tour at night. The Perseid meteor shower will be peaking in the middle of the week again this year (not ideal), but we should still get a few Perseids as well as sporadics.
When: Full campout: 4PM on Saturday, August 15th until 1PM Sunday, August 16th
When: Stargazing and constellation tour only: 9PM, Saturday
Where: SLC Eagle Creek Campus: 30391 SE Hwy 211 Eagle Creek OR, 97022
What to bring...
- tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad
- simple meals (camp stoves will be allowed, but only in designated areas)
- warm clothes (blanket?) for stargazing
- shoes and clothes (swimsuit & towel) for outdoor games and/or folk dancing
- general camping gear and toiletries
- headlamp / flashlight (with red light mode if possible)
What NOT to bring...
- knives, guns, or other weapons on school campus (by Oregon law)
- alcohol, tobacco, or recreational drugs (by Oregon law)
- pets
*Students must be accompanied by a parent / guardian. No unsupervised students of any age / grade.
*Summit's indoor bathrooms and indoor drinking fountain will be available.

There is still room if you'd like to attend Summit's campout this year, either overnight or just the Saturday evening stargazing and constellation tour.
